Karlo Stefanov, our Brass and Woodwind Technician/Repair Person studied music and mechanical engineering in Prague, Czech Republic.

In 1984, he immigrated to the United States (our gain, Europe's loss) and moved to LA and worked for "Stein on Vine" for eight years doing brass and woodwind repairs for some of the LA studio scene's hottest players including Stan Getz, Wayne Shorter, Michael Brecker amonst others!

In 1993, he moved to New York City (LA's loss, NY's gain) and went to work for Dr. Rick of Carmine Street for six years until Dr. Rick closed up shop. Then he moved on to work with Sam Ash for four years before going freelance for private collectors and investors, maintaining some of the most beautiful and expensive horns on the Eastern seaboard.

After a long and well deserved rest and visit to his homeland in Europe, he returned to New York and went to work for John Baltimore's International Woodwind and Brass.

And now he is here at East Village Music Store (our gain, everybody else's loss)!

Also, he is currently in the process of developing his own line of saxophones which will be marked under the "Kasteus Saxophone" Brand!
